Rains take a break in Nashik city

Rains took a break today after two days of heavy downpour in this North Maharashtra district, official sources said.

The district has recorded 428 mm rainfall in the last couple of days.

Rain-related incidents since June 1 have claimed 10 lives. Nine of them were killed in lighting at different places, while a labour died in a boundary wall collapse,they said.

Many trees and electric poles were uprooted and several houses damaged in the downpour.

Meanwhile, farmers have started sowing operation in view of the good rainfall.
